Nylabone® Launches Dental Solutions Line to FDM Channel
Four new products extend brand equity in oral care
April 10, 2012NEPTUNE CITY, NJ – —Nylabone®, the makers of safe, healthy chews since 1955, will unveil the new “Dental Solutions” oral care line with Plak Buster TM to the food/drug/mass channel this summer.
“Plak Buster TM is a proprietary blend of ingredients—including Vitamin C—which takes dental care one step further by reducing the plaque that harbors bacteria,” says Mike Connelly, Vice President of Marketing for Nylabone® Products based in Neptune City, N.J. “Oral care continues to demonstrate strong multi-year positive growth trends due to the prevalence of oral disease among dogs, so this line helps retailers as well as pets and pet parents.”
Connelly adds that 47 million dogs currently have oral disease in the U.S. with 80 percent of dogs showing signs of the disease by age three. Furthermore, veterinarians are driving consumer education about oral care. With the average cost for a vet dental cleaning at $600, retailers have a huge opportunity with Nylabone’s cost-effective, at-home products.
“Oral hygiene is front and center every day for consumers,” Connelly says. “Pet parents interact orally with their best friends through feeding, treating, playing and, of course, kissing, so good pet oral health is paramount.”
There are four new items in the new Nylabone® Dental Solutions line:
• Adult Dog Dental Kit and Puppy Dental Kit– each kit includes tartar control toothpaste, dual action toothbrush that massages gums and helps prevent periodontal disease, and a flexible finger brush that gently massages teeth and gums;
• Liquid Tartar Remover specifically formulated to help reduce tartar build up;
• 25-count Dental Chips, a tasty treat that is formulated with Chlorophyll and Plak Buster, specifically designed to freshen breath and lead to healthier gums and whiter teeth.
The new Nylabone® Dental Solutions products will be available at Target and other fine retailers starting in June with suggested retail prices from $7.79 to $10.99.
