Guidelines For Use
Nylabone®, the leader in responsible animal care for over 50 years™, has a chew for just about every dog.
Among these are Flexible, Dental (softer polymer) and Rhino (rubber) - for moderate chewers; and Durable (harder nylon) chews for strong, determined chewers.
Not every formulation is appropriate for every dog: Many dogs use Flexible, Dental and Rhino products successfully, but there are those that are simply too strong for their formulations. For these stronger chewers, we recommend harder nylon Durable chews.
Make sure you select the appropriate formulation and size product for your dog. If you have more than one dog in your household, select chews appropriate for the largest, strongest chewer. We recommend that you supervise the use of these all chews and toys!! Nylabone products should not be given to young children or to pets other than dogs.
Nylabone Edible Chews are meant to be consumed, and are therefore not long lasting chews. Their lifespan is determined by each individual dog's chewing style and strength. These all-natural chews are edible and highly digestible — we don't add sugar, salt, plastic or preservatives. Be sure your dog does not break off and swallow large pieces. Natural color may stain light colored surfaces.
Most Nylabone Edible Chews are best enjoyed by a dog with all of its permanent teeth; they are not recommended for the immature digestive systems of very young puppies. (Exceptions are the following products for puppies 3 months and older: Vida™ Just for Puppies, Healthy Edibles® Lamb & Apples, Healthy Edibles® Turkey & Sweet Potato, Nutri Dent® fortified with Milk Protein, and Nutri Dent® Puppy Bacon & Cheese flavor.) Consult your veterinarian for the right time to start your puppy on edible chews.
Rawhide (Toro™ and Lobo™) is a natural product. It is important that the chew is large enough and thick enough that your dog cannot easily chew off and swallow a large piece or swallow the whole chew. When the chew has been enjoyed down to a small portion or if it requires more than five (5) days to chew, we recommend discarding it. Natural color may stain light colored surfaces.
PUPPIES – Nylabone non-edible Puppy products are specially designed ONLY for young, teething puppies. They should not be given to a dog with ANY of its permanent teeth, regardless of age. Nylabone Puppy Edibles (see Edible Section above) are gentle enough for puppies 3 months and older.
Nylabone Non-Edible Chews (Plastic, Rubber, Nylon), although non-toxic, are NOT intended for consumption. During normal chewing, tiny bristle-like projections are raised, which help clean teeth. If these tiny pieces (no larger than a small grain of rice) are ingested, they should pass through. However, a dog should not be able to break off large pieces of any Nylabone Chew.
No dog toy or chew is totally indestructible. Frequently inspect your Nylabone before giving it to your dog to make sure it's whole and intact, with no missing pieces. Replace your Non-Edible Chew when knuckle ends are worn down, or if it becomes too small for your dog to chew safely. If you think your dog swallowed a piece of a Non-Edible Chew larger than ¼ inch, promptly take the chew away from the dog and contact your veterinarian for advice.
To clean Nylabone Non-Edible Chews, scrub with a brush under warm water, using mild, non-toxic detergent, and rinse thoroughly. Inspect for wear while cleaning. Nylabone Non-Edible Chews and Toys should not be autoclaved, boiled, placed in a dishwasher, washing machine, convection or microwave oven.
If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please return it to Nylabone within 30 days. If you provide your dog's breed, age and weight, and your mailing address, we can replace it with something more appropriate. If you prefer a refund of your purchase price and tax, please include your receipt.
